What is the Mickledale Lane Bespoke Design Service?

For those who prefer to have stationery unique to them Mickledale Lane offers a free of charge bespoke design service where we can design to your exact requirements, subject to the limitations of our equipment. Call or e-mail us to set up a free initial consultation. We would love to hear from you, let you see past examples and understand what is possible to make your own bespoke stationery. 

Terms and conditions do apply, including a maximum of three proof opportunities. A 50% deposit is required for all bespoke work. Once the design has been agreed, we will require payment of the balance before production commences.

Can I change the wording?

Of course! We understand that choosing your wedding stationery is a big decision and at Mickledale Lane we want to help you make this part of planning your wedding as easy and painless as possible.

All wording is entirely customisable, if the amount of words you require will fit into the design then we will be able to include it for you.

How do I submit my wording changes?

Once you’ve placed a full order, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Simply reply to that email either attaching your wording in a word document or typed directly into the reply. Please ensure you’ve checked all your spelling and grammar before sending it to us as we only format the wording, we don’t review all the details.

Will I receive a hardcopy proof?

No. All proofing is solely digital.

Can I change the fonts?

Maybe....please remember that fonts have been carefully selected to enhance each design. We therefore would not recommend changes in fonts and would usually advise you to choose an alternative design or make use of our bespoke design service. Contact us with any font related questions and we can give you a response appropriate to your chosen design.

We will not use fonts provided by customers and follow strict licensing laws associated with the use of fonts.

Can you let me have the font names to give another supplier?

We do not give our font names out for others to use. Many hours are spent searching and licensing fonts to ensure our wedding stationery is the best it can be and as a result we do not share this information.

Can we include a QR code?

Yes, we can include a QR code in your design and print them. We just ask for the QR code to be sent to us in a suitable format.

Does every design have matching on the day stationery?

Yes, all of our designs have matching items available. There may be occasions where we haven’t yet uploaded all the matching items to our website if a design has been recently added but we can still produce the items. Please e-mail enquiries@mickledalelane.co.uk with your requirements.

Ordering Process

Is there a minimum order size?

Yes. The description for each item details their respective minimums. Typically, 15 is the minimum order size for wedding invitations, but please check each individual listing.

I need extra invitations, can I order more?

Yes. We have a minimum order of 6 for repeat orders. We retain your wording on file so there is no need to resend (unless details have changed). Simply e-mail us on enquiries@mickledalelane.co.uk with your requirements.

Production & Shipping

How long will my order take to arrive?

Every set of wedding stationery is handmade to order.

The process is split into two parts; design and production. Typically, we would suggest allowing the following time for each stage:

Design: 1-3 Weeks
Production: 1-3 Weeks

The speed of dispatch will depend upon how quickly you respond to proof requests and provide the information we need to create your stationery.

The above timescales are estimates and do not include shipping time.

How will my order be delivered?

All wedding stationery will be dispatched by either courier or Royal Mail Signed For Service.

Either way it will need a signature. Tracking details will be provided once your order has been dispatched.

Are wedding invitations ready assembled?

Most elements are ready assembled but some elements are left for customers to assemble.

For example, we crease and fold concertina and gatefold invitations.

We would not attach wax seals; they are provided with a self-adhesive backing ready for use. Tiered invitations, vellum jackets, ribbon/twine, belly bands and envelope liners will require assembly.

If you would like us to fully-assemble your invitations and/or stuff envelopes then please contact us for a quote.

Should I check my order when it arrives?

Yes. It is important that you check the contents of your order to ensure the contents correspond with what you’ve ordered.

Whilst proofing is there to catch and amend errors, we’d also recommend checking for any errors upon receipt to make sure they’re not sent to guests with mistakes. If there are any issues please raise this with us immediately. Whilst customer-approved errors will be subject to reprinting charges, this is a much better situation than sending something incorrect to your guests.

What is your cancellation policy?

If your materials have not been ordered and we have not sent proof artwork then we will cancel your order without charge.

If proofing has started and/or materials have been ordered, then only a percentage of your order will be refunded. See our Terms & Conditions for more details.

Sample Service

Do you offer samples?

Yes.

Can samples be personalised?

Unfortunately not. This helps us to control costs and ensure our wedding stationery continues to provide outstanding value for money.

What sample types are available?

All items printed on cardstock and seeded paper are available: Save the Date, Wedding Invitations, Order of the Service, Menus, Place Names, Table Numbers, etc.

Items such as table plans and signage are not available as a sample.

What are your opening hours?

Our typical studio hours are Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm.

E-mails are generally answered outside of these hours but a response cannot be guaranteed outside of our studio hours.

However these timings are subject to change, Mickledale Lane is a small business and there are periods where the studio is closed for holidays.
